Circulatory arrest with deep hypothermia avoids subjecting the liver and kidneys to periods of warm ischemia. Other advantages of this technique are the physical benefits for the patient and economic benefits for the system, as the surgery is performed in a single operation. We are of the opinion that a multidisciplinary surgical approach is of fundamental importance for the proper management of this lesion. In view of the low incidence of embolism and the limited number of adhesions involved, some authors propose employing only laparotomy in the removal of tumors of this type.6 In our opinion, this approach should be avoided as it can pose a threat due to possible tumor emboli, lesions in vessels in which vascular control has not been achieved and the risk of an incomplete resection. A right atrial approach should be avoided for the same reasons. Deaths due to retroperitoneal exsanguination have been reported.

متن کاملDisopyramide induced second and third degree atrioventricular block in patients with bifascicular block. An acute stress test to predict atrioventricular block progression.
Syncopal attacks in patients with bifascicular block may be due to both ventricular tachyarrhythmias and intermittent atrioventricular block in addition to non-cardiac causes and lead to antiarrhythmic treatment with drugs or pacemaker or both. The acute electrophysiological effect of intravenous disopyramide 2 mg/kg body weight given over five minutes on the His-Purkinje system was assessed in...
متن کاملComplete heart block in HLA B27 associated disease. Electrophysiological and clinical characteristics.
A genetic predisposition associated with HLA B27 for developing complete heart block with or without clinical or radiological signs of associated rheumatic disease has recently been found. In this electrophysiological study of 12 patients with spontaneous complete heart block and HLA B27 associated disease, of whom eight had ankylosing spondylitis, 10 had suprahisian second or third degree atri...
متن کاملSignificance of exercise-induced second degree atrioventricular block.
A case of second degree, type II, atrioventricular block precipitated by exercise is presented. It is suggested that exercise and other vagolytic manoeuvres may be used as a means of differentiating type I from type II atrioventricular block: the conduction disturbance of type I improves with exercise, whereas that of type II deteriorates with exercise.

Case Presentation A 60-year-old man with a history of remote myocarditis and residual mild left ventricular dysfunction presented with syncope. Before admission, the patient was not taking any regular medications. Medical history was otherwise unremarkable. Examination at presentation was unremarkable, apart from slow atrial fibrillation (AF). ECG on presentation demonstrated AF with slow ventr...
